The bottlebrush suffered from a shock moving from its nursery to our home and it shaded a lot after one week. We quickly moved it under the Japanese fern tree for a shade. Perhaps, it had to adjust to the warmer weather in Cyberjaya. The leaves turned brown and soon dropped. Initially, we thought it wouldn't survive. Fortunately, it has shown good signs of recovery as new leaves came out recently.

Similar occurrences happened to my two little orange firecracker bushes when I brought them back about a month ago. Their leaves dropped days after they arrived, and we immediately moved them under the shade. When we saw signs of recovery, we moved them to our 'planned' area. Even so, we do not plan to transfer them onto the ground until we see good adaptation to the location for another week or two. Yup - plants can be quite sensitive to change of home.
Here's a picture of a Streak Spiderhunter which I took @ Fraser's Hill last month. They are supposed to love bottlebrush. Will continue to keep my fingers crossed and see how it goes.
