Hubby was on a half day leave and kids were at parents' place this morning. Hubby was sweet to take me balloon-chasing in the morning before we picked up the kids from parents' place. The chasing started when we saw a couple of balloons coming up high at about 745am from home.
Then, we drove across Seri Perdana Bridge and got lucky to get snapshots of the balloons with Masjid Besi on the backdrop. Masjid Besi is also known as Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin. The sky was grey, but better than yesterday.
As we drove towards Precinct 2, we saw the balloons flying low by Masjid Besi, so we stopped and took a few pictures. This time around, the balloons flew swiftly southeast.
Many balloons managed to fly far as to compared to yesterday and yester-years. Here's another balloon heading southeast.
Then we drove by Precinct 2, where the carnival was and saw Doraemon and Darth Vader balloons. We saw people queuing up to get a ride on these balloons.
We didn't stop and drove off to my parents' place. On the way to Bangi, we passed by Putrajaya Convention Center and saw my favourite balloon, the Clownie, passing by the bridge to the landing area.
This is where most balloons landed, close to Pullman Hotel, Putrajaya.
Here's the Clownie smiling before it landed.
In the evening at about 6pm, the sky was already dark and cloudy. But there were balloons high up in the sky. The kids and I grabbed our bikes and rode along the lake by Perdana Lakeview.
The balloons took the same route like they did in the morning, heading south. Many landed at the same spot, close to Pullman Hotel, and a couple (like this cat balloon) landed west of Perdana Foundation, right after they went over Seri Perdana Bridge. The pictures below were taken from 630-700pm.
Mr Zeppelin went towards Cyberheights instead of Pullman Hotel area.
Cathay Pacific and others heading towards PICC.
Clownie approching landing area and it ended up landing on the water, but fortunately a few feet away from the ground.
Hooray for the balloons! They flew very well today!
